Moxibustion Acupuncture

Moxibustion

Moxibustion is a pleasant heat application used on the acupuncture points for healing purposes. It can be administered with or without burning dried leaves of a herb called mugwort. The odor of mugwort is very similar to that of marijuana.

Moxibustion is used to activate the acupuncture points in order to regulate the physiological functions in the body and to provide energy to aid in the healing process.

Anyone who has experienced traditional moxibustion will attest to its powerfully pleasant warming effect. Lab tests done after this treatment have shown increased production of white and red blood cells as well as increased hemoglobin levels. The traditional treatment improves the overall blood and lymph circulation. It is more effective for various chronic diseases of the internal organs than acupuncture.

Our clinic uses the moxibustion program to target immune systems in order to prevent health problems (especially in the winter). This treatment improves general health and quality of life. It encourages increased longevity.
